Bison Assist

Water Sampling

Whatever kind of workplace or premises you run, you are legally responsible for preventing conditions where dangerous bacteria such as Legionella and Pseudomonas can thrive – and can cause diseases including pneumonia, Legionnaire’s Disease and Pontiac fever.

To comply with regulations, you must actively monitor your water systems for these bacteria, and show evidence that you have done so.

Regular water sampling allows you to confirm or rule out any contamination, and makes sure you keep safe everyone who uses your space.

What exactly IS water sampling?

Wearing protective clothing, a trained Bison specialist takes samples from your taps and outlets, storing it in sterile containers for testing. Water temperatures are measured, and then the system is disinfected.

Second samples are taken after a two-minute disinfection process before the containers are taken in temperature-controlled transport for analysis at accredited laboratories. Testing is carried out within 48 hours so you have the vital results quickly.
